Supporting (and building) a staff that is engaged and empowered is critical to meeting (and exceeding) goals and measuring performance metrics for the global organization.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Director of Human Resources will direct and lead all aspects of the Human Resources operations and the services of the Human Resources Department including Talent Management & Recruiting, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Training/Education & Development, Compliance, Benefits, Compensation and Performance Management, HRIS, Office Services, HR Legal and Governmental compliance, and Budget areas of responsibility.
This position requires:

o Highly developed oral and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally, confidentially, and effectively with all levels of employees, management and the Board.
o A track record of problem-solving skills, and the agility to juggle multiple shifting priorities in a quickly growing organization.
o Ability to identify complex issues and recommend effective solutions.
o A strong familiarity with organizational change and culture transformation processes, and the ability to feel comfortable in rapidly evolving situations.
o An unimpeachable sense of confidentiality and ability to build, establish, and maintain trust and credibility with all levels of staff.
o Strong prioritization and project management skills and the ability to bring tasks from conceptualization to completion efficiently.
o Comfort in an entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to be a self-starter that values on-going learning and self-development.
o Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce and commitment to collective liberation.
This is a remote position from a suitable home office with a private and quiet area to work. Secure internet and reliable phone reception are required. This position requires frequent phone and internet meetings. Certain home office expenses may be reimbursed. A work computer will be provided.
Occasional travel to the Santa Cruz or Oakland offices may be required.
Hours: Full time 40 hours per week. Applicants must be available 40 hours a week, during normal business hours (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Friday PST). The exact schedule may be arranged upon hire. Occasional weekend hours may be required with advance arrangement.
