Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Director of Biostatistics, the Statistical Programmer provides technical support to the statistical programming function to ensure clinical data is analyzed with high quality and presented in accordance with regulatory standards. The Statistical Programmer provides expertise and hands on support to clinical projects, and successfully achieves all statistical programming objectives.
The Statistical Programmer contributes to interpretation of results, writing/reviewing publications and clinical study reports by supplying tables, listings and figures in accordance with Clinical Study Report. The Statistical Programmer works closely with medical writers, Data Management, Clinical Operations, Data Sciences and Regulatory Teams to ensure data analysis and reporting needs are met.

 

Location:

This is a remote position from a suitable home office with a private and quiet area to work. Secure internet and reliable phone reception are required. This position requires frequent phone and internet meetings. Certain home office expenses may be reimbursed. A work computer will be provided.

 

Hours:   Full time 40 hours per week, temporary employee
Applicants must be available 40 hours a week, during normal business hours (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Friday PST). The exact schedule may be arranged upon hire. Occasional weekend hours may be required with advance arrangement.


Position Duties:

  • Write and execute statistical programs for creation of analysis databases, tables, listings and figures for clinical trial study reports
  • Write and execute SAS programs to assist with data management activities
  • Write the SAS code for implementation of the SAS Macro library
  • Implement and maintain the testing and validation procedures for the SAS Macro library
  • Code (in SAS or other programming language) other relevant procedures to assist in the programming process such as error checking programs
  • Develop code for procedures for implementation of CDISC requirements and other data submissions to regulatory agencies
  • Ensure adherence to quality control procedures for statistical programming activities
  • Participate in internal study team and client meetings
  •  Provide training and mentoring of Statistical Programmers


Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. in computer science, statistics, or other relevant scientific discipline
  • At least 4 years experience SAS programming with a minimum of 3 years experience with clinical study data in either a contract research organization or pharmaceutical/biotech company
  • Experience implementing CDISC format for submission datasets
  • Excellent knowledge of SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro and SAS Graph

Communicate and collaborate with key players, internal and external staff.
Check in regularly with Department Director and Senior Clinical Data Scientist and completes assignments by agreed deadline.
Documents process and provides regular updates.
Proactively seek methods of improvement, of individual work and project outcomes.
Proactively work to streamline work flows, build efficiency, security and user interface of various platforms.

 

 Compensation: This position is exempt from overtime. Compensation will be disclosed upon request.
